TeleRare Health® Expands Medical Leadership Team

Amy Gaviglio, MS, CGC, Named Medical Director; Tarek Ebrahim, MD, Named Head of Medical Strategy & Operations Advisor

Eagan, MN — September 11, 2026 — TeleRare Health today announced the appointment of Amy Gaviglio, MS, CGC, as Medical Director, succeeding Alex Katz, MD, who previously served as Chief Medical Officer. Tarek Ebrahim, MD, will also join the leadership team as Medical Strategy & Operations Advisor, working alongside Gaviglio to advance TeleRare Health’s clinical strategy, operations, and commitment to expanding access to genetics-informed care.

Ms. Gaviglio is a certified genetic counselor and nationally recognized leader in public health genetics, genomics, newborn screening, and rare diseases. Her work has focused on translating advances in genetics and screening into practical programs that improve early identification and connect individuals and families with appropriate care. She brings extensive experience collaborating across public health agencies, health systems, patient organizations, and industry to advance the implementation of genetic and rare-disease programs.

Dr. Ebrahim brings extensive leadership experience across rare and ultra-rare diseases, spanning medical strategy, medical affairs, commercial development, patient identification, and the development of patient-centered programs. He earned his medical degree from Alexandria University and holds a diploma in Public Health.  Throughout his career, Dr. Ebrahim has held senior leadership positions at Genzyme/Sanofi, Alexion, X4 Pharmaceuticals, and Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine. His work has included advancing rare-disease medical and commercial strategies, developing patient identification initiatives, supporting orphan therapy launches, and building medical affairs and patient-focused programs.

In his new role, Dr. Ebrahim will serve as TeleRare Health’s senior clinical strategy advisor, helping advance the clinical infrastructure, care models, technology-enabled workflows, and strategic partnerships that support the delivery of specialty care through affiliated professional corporations, health systems, Centers of Excellence, public health programs, and industry collaborations.
